The launch of the M48 is therefore a nice surprise for powercat fans! This new model inaugurates a complete new range which will soon represent 40% of the brand's turnover. The power catamaran that we discovered in Cannes features very clean lines and respects the brand’s design - it is still the Italian studio Garroni Design in charge. With a hull drawn by Philippe Briand and a drivetrain limited to twin 320 HP motors for a 20-ton laden displacement, there is a maximum boatspeed just shy of 20 knots. The living area includes a saloon, the galley and a helm station. The large forward cabin is a success. In the hulls, the cabins embedded deep between the central floor and the bottom of the nacelle are unprecedented on board powercats of this category. It remains to be tested in rough seas to note the behavior of the tunnel between the hulls, that has necessarily reduced bridgedeck clearance. Did you know that on board a Windelo, you can run the air conditioning using ONLY renewable energies? Many of you plan to sail in a tropical hot and humid climate, and you hesitate to install an AC on your boat. Even though our catamarans are built to have ample airflow throughout the boat, you might still seek even more comfort. You will be pleased to learn that, on your Windelo, you can run your AC from batteries (without using the genset!). But did you know that Joule produced its energy during the show thanks to the solar panels (an average of 3.4 kWh) and consumed 1.3 kWh of energy (leaving a positive balance of 1.6 kWh)?
