Day 15. Started the day with absolutely no wind. We were literally drifting… even going a bit backwards at times. Just slowly turning in circles, waiting for something to change. But eventually, the wind came back. Slowly, steadily, and we could start sailing again. I spent most of the day cooking. Prepping food for the next few days, making things easier for future us. Lunches, dinners, getting ahead while things were calm. And then… I made a chocolate croissant. As someone who’s gluten-free, that’s been one of the things I’ve missed the most. So being able to make one, on a boat, in the middle of the ocean, felt kind of unreal. Used the Omnia oven, and honestly, I love it. It just makes life out here feel a bit more normal. We ended the day on a high note. Karaoke, singing, just enjoying ourselves again. But before the night, it was back to business. The barometer dropped, which usually means one thing out here… more wind coming. A low pressure system on the way. So we reefed, prepped the boat, and got ready. The marina takes on a different persona when the sun stays low and the cold winds start to blow. I went to check on “Moments in Time” during the winter solstice. The boats on the hard were whistling in the wind, the sounds of laughter and tinking of drinks from the pool area had long departed, droning of harbor traffic remained eerily silent, and the lapping of waves had become more pronounced. A sneak peak of what we have been up to in real time. If you think polyester resin is only for the rough and ready look again! How nice does our new floor look? It weighs 7.8kg, which is a quarter of the weight of the original timber floor. Plus, it's laminated into place, making everything stiffer and stronger
