In a nutshell, Beyond The Reef works to create a diverse reef ecosystem for marine species to inhabit and thrive in where the seafloor would otherwise remain desolate and damaged. The anticipation of launching our tiny liveaboard that we just bought in September, but have never sailed yet, is just coming to a head! There have been multiple delays from the marina: first we were told that we could launch as soon as we were ready, which was May 4th weekend. Then we were told that it couldn't be launched until marina opening which was May 15th. They weren't ready because they are repairing many of the docks? Long story short (too late!) they attempted to launch us May 21st but couldn't fit the travel lift between the two boats neighbouring us? Finally, they promised Saturday May 25th 8am? A dolphin showed up in the middle of the regatta. It was really weird because it was the only one.? always remember that the Heineken Regatta is the only regatta where a month of fun is ?packed into a four day event.
