From our Komodo to East of Flores Cruise in September/October 2014. We could get really close to groups of 4-8 huge whales. This was the moment to try out something new and Jos and me stepped into a kayak and paddled slowly out to one of the groups of logging whales. Not at all disturbed by us, we came in touching distance and quietly I slipped into the water and inched my way closer to the 3 whales. The Cleat Hitch is a simple but effective way to secure your boat to the dock. Many people will argue that you should not use this method (preferring the OXO method) ad it can lock tight under heavy load.
