Feasting for climate protection: It might sound too good to be true, but it can actually work. In Germany, transportation accounts for almost as much carbon emission as the food industry. The question we now ask: Does “low in CO2” food taste as good? To find out, we equipped three brave (and hungry) colleagues with a bib and cutlery before sending them to our experimental kitchen where they were served sustainable dishes – or as we call it, Food from the Future. In our six-episode miniseries “Climate-friendly – but delicious?!” they tell us what tasted nice, and what they would actually cook at home. There’s something about being out at sea that quiets everything else. 🌊 No noise, no rush—just wind in the sails and the rhythm of the water beneath you. Out here, time feels different. Slower. Softer. You start to notice the little things—the way the light dances on the waves, the steady pull of the tide, the feeling of being both small and completely free at the same time. It’s not just a journey across water… it’s a moment to breathe, to reflect, to just be. Sometimes, the sea doesn’t just take you somewhere new—it brings you back to yourself.
This J109 lost control of it's spinnaker while sailing in the 2025 Scottish Series. With the tack line up and the halyard a 1/4 off the A-Sail quickly turned into a Kite Surfing rig and tried to accelerate the boat down win. A simple sailing manoeuvre in big breeze can turn into a sailing fail in seconds if the whole crew is not on top of their game. The crew needs to be co-ordinated and all the lines need to run freely to ensure the spinnaker makes it be to the boat as planned While we were not watching to figure out what lead to this our guess is the skipper was not running deep enough when the started the drop. If you are running square and have the kite behind the main it helps create a wind shadow which makes it easier to control as your crew race to complete the drop. Thanks one of the travelling Bottom Up Boats crew for sending on this lively action from a gusty day from the 2025 Scottish Series.
