Thirty hours into the 74th edition of the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, the four 100-ft Maxis at the front of the fleet were separated by a mere five-nautical miles with a little under 200-nautical miles still to complete. A close contest between the race leaders has ensued ever since yesterday’s memorable Sydney Harbour start. Although the race record is unlikely to be challenged, an exciting finale down the Derwent River into Hobart is forecast. There had been four retirements and the majority of the 81-strong fleet were negotiating the Bass Strait. Rolex has been Title Sponsor of the 628-nm race, organised by the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia with the collaboration of the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania, since 2002.

The composite deck, cockpit and cabin house of Hull 2 of the #LM46 were infused as a single but complex piece this week at @lyman_morse. The wooden hull of the LM46 provides the experience of sailing a classic yacht; the composite deck provides the water-tight longevity and cost efficiency of a modern yacht. Hulls 1&2 are launching later this year. Follow us to watch the progress. --

Maserati Multi70 (ITA), skippered by Giovanni Soldini, crossed the finish line of the 2020 Rolex Middle Sea Race at the Royal Malta Yacht Club to take Multihull Line Honours at 20:41:31 CEST on Monday 19th October in an elapsed time of 2 days, 08 hours 31 minutes 31 seconds. Mana (ITA), owned by Riccardo Pavoncelli, finished fifteen minutes behind after a closely fought battle around the course. "That was really a great race. There was many many moments. It was really a contact race. We were always together (Mana), we didn't split. It wasn't a tactical problem, it was more speed and manouvers." "It was really nice to have a great competitor. I think it was the best Rolex Middle Race I've ever done, for sure." - Giovanni Soldini, Skipper of Maserati Multi70. #RolexMiddleSeaRace Giovanni Soldini Pagina Ufficiale
