► The aluminum catamaran that we discovered just over two years ago in Hellevoetsluis, in the south of the Netherlands, is without doubt one of the only 40-foot catamarans on the market to adopt this robust, 100% recyclable material. Vann Yachts’ eco-responsible approach is also reflected in the use of electric motors and the adoption of non-polluting and/or recyclable materials, such as the highly successful new headlinings fitted to the R4 #2 presented at Cannes. In addition to these first two R4s, the builder has already launched two R5s, and two more catamarans are currently in production. A great success story for this young company... ► Builder: Vaan Yachts Length: 42’ (12.8 m) Beam: 23’2” (7.06 m) Draft: 4’3”/6’5” (1.3/1.95 m) Displacement: 24,000 lbs (10.9 t) Mainsail: 592 sq ft (55 m²) Solent: 323 sq ft (30 m²) Gennaker: 1,453 sq ft (135m²) Engines: 2 x 10 or 15 kW ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! What do you get when you mix Cold War espionage, an 80-year-old warbird, and a pilot crazy enough to hijack his own airplane to escape communism? In this video, I fly Mira Slovak’s original Bücker Jungmann, a legendary German-designed WWII-era biplane with an unbelievable backstory. From Cold War defection to aerobatic stunts, this flight is packed with cinematic footage, vintage aircraft vibes, and a slice of aviation history you’ve probably never heard. Miroslav “Mira” Slovak was a Czech Airlines pilot who hijacked his own plane in 1953 to flee the Soviet regime, eventually becoming a U.S. citizen, air race champion, and aerobatic pilot. His story is straight out of a movie—and now, his historic airplane lives on. We took this 1930s warbird to the skies for a day of vintage aerobatics, tailwheel flying, and breathtaking air-to-air shots. Whether you’re into vintage planes, Cold War history, general aviation, or just love epic flying footage, this one’s for you. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more aviation adventures, skydiving content, and insane flying stories! #Aviation #VintageAircraft #BückerJungmann #WWIIPlanes #Aerobatics #PilotLife #ColdWarHistory #MiraSlovak #Tailwheel #FlyingStories #SkyAdventure #AirToAir #EscapeFromCommunism #WarbirdWednesday #GeneralAviation #PlaneSpotting #BushFlying #AviationHistory #FlyingFootage #HistoricAircraft
Sailboat Repairs; U-Bolts Installed. As we near completion for our major sailboat repairs-our excitement mounts. These are the U-Bolts that we had specially machined, here in Anacortes to hold our mast. They extend through the chainplates to the interior of our Sceptre 41. We plan to be sailing in about two weeks towards B.C., where we will be spending 2-3 months doing our 'shakedown cruise', before heading south. For another video about our repairs, check out this one: https://youtube.com/shorts/PgbZOAb-pTE?si=Yi5U87uGQNptFqSD If you dig our journey as a new sailing couple, learning to sail, buying a Sceptre 41, getting ready to sail and launching, we would love you to follow along: Join us on our website at: https://gypseaexplorer.com/ Or on our Instagram Channel: https://www.instagram.com/writerjacks/
