In a world where expectations begin early — echoed by parents and relatives alike, you’re told to grow up and do something remarkable. So I followed the advice. Joined the Indian Navy. Sailed on warships of various sizes. Rose to a Captains Rank. Was awarded the Nau Sena Medal. Married at the “right” age to a wonderful partner my parents adore. We have an amazing 15-year-old. And yet… something always sat heavy on my mind. I wanted more from life. So I quit a steady government job. Sold everything. And bought a sailboat. Maybe not in the way they imagined.
