As with most long open ocean passages it’s never a certainty as to when we’ll actually leave. There is currently a very small weather window and it’s looking like we’ll leave Tuesday night (2 days from now). In the mean time, the crew and I are servicing, cleaning, maintaining, organizing, and preparing ourselves and the boat. The plan is to get to Bermuda (3-4 days) and then after a few days sail south to St Martin I’m the Caribbean (5-6 days). Tow ropes can be super dangerous. You might think that a barge is self propelled and not notice the tow rope from the tug ahead. These are in the ocean as well as rivers and other waterways. It is an easy mistake to miss. Sometimes the ropes can be very long.
