Peterson of Peterson Builders, Inc. in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin and built in 1946. Utopia’s unique features include a steel double bottom for strength, wooden hull sides for warmth, and twin Detroit diesel engines. Visitors can marvel at her elegant lines, learn about her global circumnavigation, and appreciate the craftsmanship that has kept her sailing for decades. Utopia currently resides under the stewardship of the her new owners based in Manitowoc Wisconsin, where it continues to inspire curiosity and passion for the Great Lakes among learners of all ages.

Toni and I planned the day with family at Solomons. Keeping a boat in Solomons does have it perks. We did some boat chores, swam in the pool, had some drinks at the bar and told tall stories, cooked burgers and dogs, and then enjoyed fireworks from the forward lounge of Moments in Time.

Sailing in the Bahamas is not all hot and sunny! This video shows the cold front arriving on Jan 23rd. The only good thing was we collected 150L of drinking water in 30 minutes....It could have been more if I had been brave enough to go outside to swap over tanks
