In the last weeks, our team put six bilge stringers to add strength and stiffness to the hull. For each one, we follow the same procedure: The first step is to create a template and transfer it to the carefully selected piece of oak, which we shape into form with circular saws, planers and sanders. Then our team uses a mix of linseed oil, tar and chalk to seal the gaps between the bilge stringer and frames. ► Sunreef Yachts ► A Third Shipyard Near Dubai The specialist in large custom luxury catamarans already operates out of two sites in Gdańsk, Poland, but has also just opened third yard in Ras Al-Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. For the builder, demand in the Middle East region is indeed significant, justifying an investment of nearly 30 million euros with the aim of expanding its industrial capacity by building a new state-of-the-art facility. Sunreef Yachts acquired a 16-acre (65,000 m²) site on which the construction of a first 110,000 square foot (10,000 m²) building was completed. The new yard began production in September 2023, initially employing around 50 staff.
