The beginning of the Waddenslalom is a fact. Gerard Dykstra took the Bestevaer 36 for her first miles to a place she was designed for, the Dutch Wadden Islands. Thanks to the centerboard, the Bestevaer 36 can seamlessly navigate between deep and shallow waters. This enables the exploration of small waters and places that would otherwise be inaccessible. The retractable keel also allows the yacht to fall dry on sandbanks, providing a unique experience. It is therefore no surprise that the Bestevaer 36 feels like a fish in the water when slaloming the Wadden Islands. Although she is compact in size, the yacht is strong enough to sail to Spitsbergen, or beyond. The ability to maneuver with ease between the shallow waters of the Wadden Islands or the deep oceans in the North Sea makes the yacht ideal for sailors who want to enjoy the beautiful scenery ánd the more challenging sea.

La giornata parte come al solito: sveglia, colazione, lavorazioni, navigazione. Grande novità: un breve soffio di vento si è fatto sentire da queste parti! L’equipaggio era talmente contento che per un paio d’ore c’è stata una frenesia rara a bordo. Vele che venivano issate Vele ammainate Poi issate nuovamente Poi ammainate per issare una vela più adatta. Io ero sotto che lavoravo e sentivo questo trambusto di 4 bimbi adulti che finalmente varcano i cancelli del luna park e possono giocare. Stupendo 😂 Oggi siamo arrivati a sud di Lanzarote ma non ci siamo fermati. Ci fermeremo domani, quando i nostri parabordi toccheranno suolo di Las Palmas. Sperando che il vento torni a farci visita! En este relato, comparto los nervios y la ansiedad que preceden una de las travesías más desafiantes de mi vida: Un viaje en solitario por el Mediterráneo a bordo del "British Tiger". A través de mis palabras, expreso el vértigo y el miedo que enfrentó, pero también la fuerza interior que me impulsa a seguir adelante. Esta historia me recuerda que la verdadera valentía no es la ausencia de miedo, sino la capacidad de enfrentarlo y seguir adelante, incluso con "un nudo en el estómago".
