We sail on the good ship Saracen, a Beneteau Oceanis 473 from 2006. Out journey started in Scotland in early 2023 and our ultimate goal is to sail around the globe …..slowly. We make these videos mostly for family and friends and to create a record of our adventures for ourselves so that we can look back at them later in life, were not in it to make money (way to hard). Powered by twin 300 HP outboards, the Dracan reached 30 knots. On the day of our test, the sea was perfectly flat, but crossing the wakes of several other boats at full speed gave us a good idea of how it would handle in waves. In the curves, the 42 stays flat. The modern design of this semi-open hull is unmistakably successful, and the carefully designed layout, with 2, 3 or 4 cabins, will adapt to any program. The deck layout is ideal for relaxation, with large sun loungers aft and a forward cockpit.
