Hayley's school work is currently focused on persuasive texts. In her current module she was required to make an advertisement for Antarctic Ice. Hayley thought making a 30 second TV ad would be fun. Acting team was recruited (from another boat as well as ours) and the director set to work!

As part of the 2025 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, shortly after the start as the boat passed Bondi Beach LawConnect Owner Christian Beck and Australian swimming legend Ian Thorpe AM honoured those who lost their lives in the recent Bondi terror attack by scattering rose petals. Fifteen yachts representing the race’s organisers, the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia – one for every victim who sadly lost their life during the tragedy - were also part of the memoriam. A host of other competitors joined in honouring those lost on December 14, 2025.
