While visiting rural Michigan, I got the unexpected pleasure of being able to explore the biggest and best car museum in America! The Gilmore Car Museum and surrounding grounds showcases an incredible collection of over 400 cars, including rare and vintage models, American muscle cars, motorcycles and even the horseless carriages. From classic American roadsters to sleek European sports cars, this museum has it all. As someone who's not even a car enthusiast, it was an impressive looking at American and international automotive history! After backpacking Asia, road tripping Europe and doing a bit of van life, we’re now exploring the world aboard our Leopard 45 catamaran. At Alitis Yachting, we specialize in creating unforgettable sailing experiences, and a trip to Vis is one of our most beloved routes for good reason. Why Vis? Vis is one of Croatia’s most enchanting islands. Once a military base, it remained closed to foreign visitors until 1989, preserving its authentic charm and natural beauty. Our modern sailing yachts are fully equipped for comfort and safety, and our skippers are not just experienced sailors—they’re your guides to discovering hidden gems that only locals know. Highlights of Vis Stiniva Cove – Frequently ranked among the most beautiful beaches in Europe, this narrow bay with dramatic cliffs is accessible mainly by boat. Blue Cave (Modra špilja) – Located on the nearby island of Biševo, the cave glows with ethereal blue light at midday. A short detour worth every second. Komiža and Vis Town – These two picturesque towns on opposite sides of the island offer cozy harbors, charming stone streets, and a relaxed island vibe. Local Cuisine – Try traditional dishes like peka or grilled fish, and don’t miss Vis’ famous wines, especially the white Vugava and red Plavac Mali. Why Sail with Alitis Yachting? At Alitis Yachting, we believe sailing is more than a vacation—it’s a journey of discovery. Our skippered charters are designed to give you the freedom to explore, with the comfort of knowing you're in expert hands. This beautifully maintained 24’ Limestone Runabout, named Bella, offers a smooth and reliable ride with the well-known durability of Limestone boats. With a striking navy blue hull, this boat has been meticulously cared for and is ready for new adventures on the water. Ideal for commuting, boat camping, or entertaining family and friends, *Bella* is perfectly suited for the Salish Sea and beyond. The deep modified V-hull and wide 9’2″ beam provide excellent stability, even in rough waters. The current owners have cherished their time aboard, ensuring regular upkeep, and have service records available for review. Notable features include a Mercruiser 5.7L fuel-injected Vortec engine, rebuilt in 2017 with only 350 hours since overhaul, and a Bravo III outdrive. The boat also boasts a cuddy cabin with a V-berth, ideal for overnight stays, and a Garmin GPS for reliable navigation. In 2021, new canvas ($6,500) was added, and in 2022, the hull received a midnight blue wrap, which gives the boat a refreshed and polished look. Moorage is available in West Vancouver, offering an ideal spot for easy access to the water.
