We caught up with some of the 29er sailors at the Irish Sailing Investwise Youth National Championships in Howth Yacht club today (April 15th 2023) to find out what they love about sailing. The 29ers are one of the fastest growing classes and have a great mix of boys and girls competing together and against each other. The Sparksman and Stephens 34’. The sailboat I chose to sail across the Atlantic Ocean with no experience and no navigation gear. Just my eyes and stars, but why the s&s34? One simple reason. It’s the ship that has never capsized. Despite holding so many circumnavigation records. But this was true 20 years ago, is it still true today?
