It feels weird to celebrate this win when I’m still in the thick of grief. But here I am, at the tail end of this big refit project. I don’t know what I’m going to do next. I can really only look about 3 days ahead, and even that is a challenge, but I’m doing my best to care for myself while I mend my heart. I may go into Canada. I may bop around the San Juan Islands. Ahoy! Sailing bliss or disaster? We're leaving the Eagle Point marinara a raw sail downwind to our marina in Lake Dallas. Cyndi and I have come this far to try our hand at a downwind wing-on-wing sail plan, after an easterly beam reach, then a westwardly sail. We had a great time practicing the training run and the down-wind sail setup. We leave our old friend, Sneaky Pete's Grill, and Eagle Point Marina behind and press forward, sailing back to Lake Dallas in our Catalina C-30 Tall Rig sailboat named Zanadu!
