It feels weird to celebrate this win when I’m still in the thick of grief. But here I am, at the tail end of this big refit project. I don’t know what I’m going to do next. I can really only look about 3 days ahead, and even that is a challenge, but I’m doing my best to care for myself while I mend my heart. I may go into Canada. I may bop around the San Juan Islands. The only thing I know for certain: I need to be in nature. I need to be in the water. So, I will head out this week. #scubadiver #boatrestoration #griefrecovery

Rose is learning to help out around the yacht, one job at a time! She started hovering at the top of the ladder whenever I was trying to get out so I’ve started passing her gear from the water so she can carefully grab it and set it down on the transom. She’s still figuring it out (some bites are better than others 😂), but the goal is to have her drop everything on the deck or in a bucket, maybe even working up to doing it on the tender too! Until then, she’s still earning her keep as first mate, head of security and our onboard wellness coach. Prefer to support the channel as a 1-off?
