141-metre converted superyacht YAS from above Originally built in 1981 by the Koninklijke Schelde shipyard for the Royal Dutch Navy, tshe began her life as the frigate HNLMS Piet Hein (F 811). After more than twenty years in active naval service, she was sold to the United Arab Emirates in 1998 and renamed Al Emarat (F 02), continuing her military duties until her retirement in 2006. Following her decommissioning, the ship embarked on a transformation at ADM Shipyards in Abu Dhabi that was completed in 2015, emerging as Yas, a 5,002 GT superyacht distinguished by her dolphin-inspired profile and futuristic glass-domed superstructure conceived by Pierrejean Design Studio. Today, Yas can host up to 60 guests along with 56 crew, blending naval heritage with modern luxury.@superyachttimes
