After renting out their house in New Zealand, Renee and Lynette pushed off aboard their steel sailboat Tekaihau to sail around the world. They have sailed over 30,000 nautical miles and visited 16 countries so far. Just another 8000 miles to go... This was a trip up Southampton Water to the River Hamble. SotonMet logged it as F6 gusting F7. We were double reefed on the main with about 4/5 rolls in the jib. The wind was strong enough that we struggled to motor mainly because of the short chop. She sailed extremely well though, tacking all the way - 14 miles or so in total.
