Here are 3 reasons why we bought a steel boat; 1. They are strong! We want to travel anywhere including choppy seas and transatlantic crossings without worrying about the fragility of our boat. Steel sailboats have a more rigid structure and are robust so they can better withstand grazes, rubs, and bumps when in the open water. 2. They are stable! Though not as light and fast as fiberglass boats, the weight of steel boats make them more steady in choppy waters and that means reduce chances of seasickness. 3. We are going electric! Since we were buying a used boat, we needed to select a structure that could be alter in order install our electric motor and a steel structure is highly adaptable. Chef Abel shared a lot with me recently, and I must say I have immense respect for his cooking, his passion, and dedication. There was a time when we didn't know about gluten-free, GMOs, or any of that - we just made everything from scratch, and didn't have allergies or other issues. I just want to remind you that it's still possible - we still have access to good, natural food, thanks to all the farmers.
