The daggerboards are fitted in the floats, freeing up the central hull. The companionway hatch has three positions and can be supplemented with a sprayhood and sun awning. Down below, thanks to two levels of chines, the 8.50 offers a fairly decent headroom of six feet (1.82 m). There are proper berths, a fixed galley, a toilet, and plenty of clever storage space. After this stopover at La Grande-Motte in the Mediterranean, 850 #1 will be returning to Brittany, where a test sail in the Gulf of Morbihan has already been scheduled.
