Still in Cape Town for Day 3. We started the day at the V&A Waterfront Marina; there, we were able to follow the finishing work being done on a Balance 442. This phase, which lasts about 10 days, includes setting the sails, checking the rigging, and finally the Owner's handover after that. Then, we were able to visit the Ullman Sails factory with Tony Strutt. We completed Leg One of Voyage, Heading to Tokyo for 70th Birthday and Gerontology Conference First Mate Ian is staying on board and I'm heading to Tokyo for a 70th birthday celebration and to attend a gerontology conference where I'm on the organizing committee. I'm also there to support a keynote speaker who I helped get a book published.
