🐋 The majestic sperm whale, also known as the cachalot, is the largest of the toothed whales and holds the title of the largest toothed predator. 🌊 Named for the waxy substance "spermaceti" in their heads, which aids in focusing sound, these magnificent creatures have a rich history. 💡 Spermaceti was once used in oil lamps, lubricants, and candles, but unfortunately, they were heavily hunted during the commercial whaling era. Our Bris 12.5 dinghy developed water leak. It would flood 3 in deep about 50 gal to bail out every use. Used dinghy davits to lift bow high so I could get on swim platform and patch.
