I discovered a very old orchard growing wild in the woods near the sailboat. So many varieties of fruits and berries. So, I snagged a pair of pears and turned them into a Whiskey Pear Sauce for the the pancakes! This will be the first cooking segment for the channel! Stay tuned for new episodes coming up shortly. I haven’t been able to afford a new laptop to edit videos on the boat. We are headed back to Alberta on Sunday so I’ll get some videos uploaded soon. I hope you’ll subscribe to follow along with the live aboard sailboat transition!
Talk about being SHOCKED! My neighbor SURPRISED me with a gift that he got while free diving in front of our home. He saw me firing up the grill for some steak and thought he would go free diving to turn my dinner into a "surf and turf". He walked straight out of the ocean and up to my lanai and proceeded to clean it right there! I have never cooked an octopus before so I asked him how and he gave me some quick tips and then handed it to me. When I put the Octopus into the boiling pot of water it began to move. Then when I put the salt in the water it moved even more. It was trippy! Knowing what I know now, I will certainly try a few things different to help get the meat to be more tender. All in all, it didn't come out to bad tho! Mahalo! #octopusfreediving #octopuschannel #seafood #surfandturf
The Mumm 36 - Go To Red made some magical memories for the Bottom Up Boats crew. The boat really came alive whenever we could get the A-Sail up in a bit of pressure. The boat was touching 10 knots of boats speed in gust up to 16 knots on the beautiful sunny day on Strangford Lough in Northern Ireland. Flat water and breeze really aloud the Mumm 36 to get her bow out of the water and jump up on the plane. The it was perfect condition for the yacht with the crew working together to ensure the sails were trimmed to perfection to keep the boat flat while reaching as the tighten up to make the bottom mark. The team at bottom up boats hope you enjoyed this Mumm 36 Memory, where you can become a skipper for a minute by coming onboard Go to Red. Go to Red was a great boat which creation many memories which the crew and hopefully you look back on fondly for many years to come.
