Det är den första räddningsbåten i sitt slag och som har designats av norska Birger Kullmann Design Naval Architecs. Under året kommer räddningsbåten att placeras vid Skärhamns räddningsstation på Tjörn för att där bemannas av frivilliga sjöräddare. – Den här generationen räddnings-båtar är helt och hållet framtagen med våra frivilliga i fokus. Allt är gjort för att det ska vara så lätt som möjligt, både viktmässigt för att nå högre toppfart men också för att den ska vara lätt att hantera, säger Jonas Carlsson som tillsammans med Ian Wilson utgör Sjöräddningssällskapets nybyggnationsteam. Första båten har döpts till Margareta Emblad efter önskemål från donatorn. – Detta är en allroundbåt som ska passa på mer eller mindre alla våra stationer. Kompromissen vi gjort är att vi inte kan köra sjuktransporter på samma sätt eftersom det kräver att man kan gå igenom från utrymmet vid frontluckan till hytten och det kan man inte här, säger han. Designtänket har varit en mer ergonomisk och utrustad räddningsbåt med moderna system som är lätta att lära. Tröskeln till att använda båten ska vara låg för att den ska kunna användas av fler sjöräddare. – Det är lika mycket teknik här som i våra 15-metersbåtar, men det är väldigt lite instrument. Allt är nerflyttat och integrerat, bara det som är relevant presenteras. Man behöver exempelvis inte ha en egen panel bara för lanternor och en för länspumpen, säger Jonas Carlsson. Mycket av tänket för navigationen har hämtats från bilindustrin. – Oavsett vilken bil man hamnar i vet man ungefär hur man startar och sedan kör. Det ska vara samma sak här. Om något skulle vara fel och som man behöver agera på talar båten om det själv. Går det ett larm kommer det stå i klartext på skärmarna samtidigt som en röst berättar, säger han. De första testerna har visat att Rescue Margareta Emblad går fint i höga farter, har en god manövrering, bra ergonomi och 40 procent lägre bränsleförbrukning jämfört med andra räddningsbåtar som Sjöräddningen har i drift idag. – Vi gjorde en ganska grundlig utredning av hur drivlinan skulle se ut, från motor och backslag till vattenjet. Vi valde Volvo Penta eftersom de väger minst med mest effekt, säger han. Båten gör 44,5 knop i medvind och 43 knop i motvind, men kommer att ha en begränsning vid 34 knop. – Idag körs många av våra båtar i full fart även om det kanske inte alltid är brådskande. I den här nya klassen kan man välja att ta ut full effekt vid larm, annars ligger en begränsning vid strax under 80 procent av effekten. I cockpit finns tre sittplatser för besättningen, två fram och en precis bakom. – I vissa båtar har befälhavaren fått stå bakom, men nu har vi gjort en stol där man antingen kan sitta och övervaka eller vara under utbildning och sitta där och lära upp sig. Att lära upp skeppare har varit en stor utmaning för oss, men genom detta hoppas vi att det ska bli lättare, säger han. Hittills är sju enheter beställda i serien. Under maj och juni kommer Rescue Margareta Emblad att ge sig ut på en turné till Pool i England för Royal National Lifeboat Institutions 200-årsfirande och därefter till Amsterdam och De Koninklijke -Nederlandse Redding Maatschappij för deras dito. – I mitten av juni ska vi sedan köra runt och visa upp den på olika stationer i Sverige, därefter går den till Skärhamn, säger Jonas Carlsson. Genom en helt ny och extra lång vattenlinje i kombination med den lägre vikten kan bränsle förbrukningen sänkas med upp till 40 procent. Båten är dessutom förberedd för en hybriddrivlina för att kunna ställas om till eldrift när infrastrukturen tillåter. Skrovkonstruktionen är testad för att klara ett ton batterier. We crossed the North Sea from the UK to the Netherlands on the 3+4 February 2022! It was a 33 hour sail trip, including 14 hours of night sailing. To experience how this is, I made a 25 seconds movie. So you have an idea of what you see during the night, or better: don’t see 😊. The red light is the left front of the boat and the green light is the right side of the boat. Also listen to the sound of the ship sailing in the dark! I send this movie to one of my uncles via WhatsApp and he replied, he thought his phone was broken when playing this movie, because his screen turned so dark!
