Our new friend Solo guides us on a hike barefoot through the island to a place where generations of families have come to enjoy these delicious nuts called Maje. The PNG pigeon eats the flesh while the hard outer encasing is left for us to try to crack open with a rock to get to the reward inside. Finally! A little weekend getaway… ✨ Or well, more like a full-on work weekend on Vela. We packed our biggest IKEA bag and moved aboard for a few days to get as much done as possible. The to-do list is still long, but waking up on the boat again makes all the hard work worth it! We tackled cleaning, polishing, anti fouling, engine maintenance, and a bunch of small fixes. And of course, Anker made sure to keep morale high with his morning yoga. Not exactly a relaxing getaway, but definitely our kind of weekend! ⛵
