Sailing 800 miles upwind to the Caribbean might have been our best passage ever! Normally right on the nose we had a light wind close reach/close hauled passage just before Christmas when we sailed from the Bahamas direct to St Martin. A lovely example is in this video of a Merry Fisher inboard weekend cruiser. She is shaft driven tunning a single three-blade propellor. The inboard diesel boats were phased out replaced by outboard motor versions. Although the outboard version was a totally different hull shape, faster and quieter the inboard boat still has a great following on the used boat market.
