Test of the hover controller, in particular in yaw direction (multicopter frame, i.e. roll direction in airplane frame). The yaw is stabilized using the flaperons which are in the propeller wash. The flaperon deflections are visible when Chris pokes the kite with the broom. The controller quickly reacts and stabilizes smoothly the yaw angle back to zero. Note that differential propeller directions as used for small multicopter-drones do not offer nearly enough yaw moment for control authority of the kite's inertia or expected wind loads. In addition, such a control scheme greatly reduces the thrust for yaw stabilization. This is why this is not feasible for our system.

Intro zu unserem YouTube-Video "Gestrandet auf Ærø. Wie ein Sturm unseren ersten großen Südsee-Törn stoppte". Moin! Wir sind Rika und Johannes aus Hamburg. Zusammen mit Rikas Schwester Julia hat uns vor ca. vier Jahren das Segelfieber gepackt. Seitdem ist die Hamburger Außenalster unser Heimatrevier. Hier liegt unser Kielzugvogel „Knysna“ [ˈnaɪzna] (benannt nach einer Stadt in Südafrika), den wir uns im April 2021 zugelegt haben. Während der Wintersaison der letzten beiden Jahre haben wir uns step-by-step dem Refit unseres Vollholzboots gewidmet. Ein bis dahin völlig unbewandertes Terrain für uns, aber: man wächst an seinen Herausforderungen. Neben der Außenalster zieht es uns immer wieder an die Ostsee, insbesondere die Dänische Südsee mit ihren kleinen Inseln und dem teils kristallklaren Wasser hat es uns angetan — das perfekte Revier, um die eigenen Segel-Skills Stück für Stück zu erweitern. Auf Instagram (@unter.segeln) und auch gelegentlich hier bei YouTube nehmen wir euch mit in unsere kleine Segel-Welt. ----- Unser erstes YouTube-Video folgt nächste Woche Sonntag (03.09.2023) von einem Teil unseres zweiwöchigen Törns durch die Dänische Südsee.
