Tying your first bowline knot feels impossible… until one day it doesn’t. ⛵️ I still remember how awkward my hands felt when I tried it the first time. But with practice — and good mentors — it became second nature.. like doing it blindfolded😎 I’d like to invite you to my Sailing School, where we learn all the basics and skills you need — from navigation and knots to safety and docking. Not just to “get a license,” but to one day take your friends or family on your own trip, explore new places, and feel the freedom of being the captain. 🌊✨ 📖 *Theory Course* starts September 2025 (online) ⛵️ *Practice Week* → November 1–7, 2025 (Mallorca)
Offshore autonomy starts with system mastery. During owner week, new Garcia owners go through diesel engine mechanics as part of a broader objective: understanding the yacht at the level required by its program. The further the program, the higher the need for clarity, structure and autonomy. Which onboard system would you want to master first? #GarciaYachts #DieselMechanics #OffshoreCruising #ExpeditionSailing #BluewaterCapability Which onboard system would you want to master first?
We bought a canyoning harness before leaving Australia and it was still adjusted for Carolyn’s small size, so she was the one to try it first. The fourth mast step was too stiff to be opened so that’s as high as she climbed. We’ll need to carry some kind of persuader to open them, until they free up a bit. After that first climbing effort we had a second go in the fading light, with the two halyards again but also the winch this time. Much easier, for her! :-)
