This video shows the last stage of our sailing trip in the Mediterranean. We have left our destination of Sardinia and are now sailing via Mallorca and Ibiza back to mainland Spain. From Ibiza, I am sailing single-handed along the Spanish coast to Almerimar, where the “Cocon” will be taken out of the water. She will be prepared at the shipyard for the next voyage, which will once again take us across the Atlantic to the Caribbean. This video shows our trip to northeastern Sardinia and the Maddalena Archipelago, with a short detour to Corsica. The area is perfect for beginner sailors and charter crews. There are countless anchorages and opportunities to seek shelter away from the Strait of Bonifacio when strong winds prevail there. In my opinion, the area is truly fantastic and well worth spending some time there. Most of the time we sailed in convoy with two other boats, the “Henni” and the “Godelief.” This meant that we were able to film each other while sailing. Unfortunately, some of the footage is not very sharp, which is due to the reformatting of vertical videos into horizontal sections, but I hope that doesn't bother you too much. This video shows a lot of sailing scenes and is therefore purely a sailing video. It is intended to give an impression of this beautiful area. I also try to show some anchorages, both on the coast of northern Sardinia (the “Costa Smeralda”) and in the Maddalena Archipelago. At the end, we make a short detour to Corsica. In this second part, I will report on our journey from Formentera to Sardinia. We sailed in the spring when the winds were more reliable, which allowed us to sail long distances with steady winds. Im Frühjahr 2024 ging es wieder ins Mittelmeer, zunächst von Portgal durch die "Orca Alley", also das Gebiet wo viele Orca Attacken vorkommen, nach Gibraltar, dann durch die Alboransee und in langen Etappen nach Formentera. Die Alboransee kann teilweise schwierig zu befahren sein, und in dem Video gebe ich meine Erfahrungen und einige Tipps weiter, die ich auf einigen Reisen durch dieses Gebiet gesammelt habe. Wenn man die Bedingungen in der Alboransee verteht, kann man viele Meilen und viel Zeit sparen. This video is about a sailing trip from Panama to Jamaica. The question, if this trip is possible at all against the prevailing winds and the complex current conditions, and how difficult it is, has been on my mind for a long time. I had the opportunity to experience this on the catamaran "Flip Flop" of my friends Peter and Petra. In addition to Panama and the actual sailing trip, I try to give you some impressions of Jamaica outside the tourist areas. In this video I show our sailing trip from the "Les Saintes" archipelago off the coast of Gouadeloupe northwards. We stay at Freeman's Bay in Antigua, which is right at the entrance to the famous "Nelson's Dockyard", and continue to Jolly Harbour on Antigua. An interesting encounter was with a group of dolphins in the anchorage of Deshaies in Guadeloupe, with whom it was possible to swim and dive. Our Atlantic crossing was supposed to be straight to Martinique, but as we had a lot of calm early on, we decided to stop at the Cape Verde Islands to refuel. We didn't regret it, because when do you get the chance to visit these remote islands? We used the time to visit Santo Antão - the island opposite Mindelo. This is the first longer leg of 450nm from Portugal to Porto Santo and Madeira. The trip is really calm and relaxing, and we reach Porto Santo after 3,5 days without any issues. We use the time to visit Porto Santo and then continue our journey with a short leg to the main island of this archipelago, Madeira . In this video I discuss two tricky situations: firstly, the passage through the Strait of Gibraltar, because the currents there can be very complicated, and secondly, how to avoid an encounter with the dreaded orcas. English In this video I describe our trip to the Balearic Islands, in particular Mallora, Menorca and Ibiza. We visit several anchorages on these islands and have to be careful not to damage the Posidonia fields when anchoring. This problem is explained in detail. The swell in the bays always bothers us. But that belongs to the Mediterranean, I guess. Finally we sail over to the Spanish mainland, to Valencia, where something very unexpected happens...

This video describes our one week sailing trip from Denia (mainland Spain) to Mallorca (Balearics). My two friends Matthias and Robert join me, during their vacation and we pass a perfect time together and have lots of fun. I also talk about harbour fees in comparison to buoys on the Balearics, which can be a good alternative in terms of cost.
