This week we are back sailing Waxwing .We set sail from Bantry bay Co Cork heading for Dingle Co Kerry but stopped in Knightstown Valentia island Co Kerry for small repair and decided to shelter here from storm Erin , Knightstown is beautiful and well sheltered so a great place to wait out the bad weather. #sailing #boatlife #ocean

This week we had to move an Aurora 40 sailboat on a short trip from Bantry to Oldcourt in Co cork Ireland.

Part two of the delivery this week from A Coruna Spain , to Cascais Portugal and on to the final destination Portimao. Good mix of weather , winds didn’t go over 25kn and some days very light and foggy but in general it was a great run down the Spanish and Portuguese coasts . #sailing #hydrovane #sailboat #ocean #boatlife #yachtdelivery

I fitted a Hydrovane for Tony the owner earlier this year ( I’m recommended fitter for Hydrovane) and Tony asked me if I would deliver his saddler to the algarve? I said ok , I deliver a lot of different yachts and motorboats also but mostly 40ft +, when I was younger a 32 ft boat was a big boat , I sailed a vindo 30 for years , so I was looking forward to the trip , it turned out great so far , Tony is a gentleman and a great sailor and we are having a good laugh along the way . This week we sail from Ballycotton to Kinsale then on to Bantry bay in Co cork Ireland . Beautiful weather , great company,calm seas stunning Irish coastline. Oh and unfortunately a broken anchor windlass ⛵️⚓️

This week we sail Waxwing from Arklow Co Wicklow to Kilmore Quay in Wexford .Noticed vibration on my propeller shaft as we approached Kilmore so had to use the GoPro to check for rope on the prop , I replace my propeller shaft coupling that I had onboard , then sail to Ballycotton Co Cork and anchor there for the night .⛵️⚓️

S3 ep 1 A short video just to thank everyone for all the messages on WhatsApp, facebook instagram etc also to all the lovely people that have stopped me to say hi , also a few minutes of a yacht delivery I did last summer from Greece to Lisbon Portugal .

Engine failure 100nm north of Madeira meant it was safer to sail back to Porto Santo . It all worked out well and it was so incredible to have a great sailing community here to help . Will remove my injection pump and have it refurbished hopefully in Funchal (the main island of Madeira 😊

So happy to feel healthy and strong again , decided to sail to Porto santo one of the islands of Madeira. Great to be back to what I love .. sailing ⛵️

So lovely to be back onboard Waxwing for a week after 5 weeks at home in Ireland. Lovely weather to warm the body , nice also to check everything onboard. Carrying out some simple maintenance and repairs.

Unfortunately I had to make a tough decision to sail north instead of south , this week I sail to Santa Cruz de Tenerife .

This week I am waiting for a good weather window to sail south to the Cape Verde and on across the Atlantic. Food shopping and preparing Waxwing for the voyage. I get to meet my friends in los palmas and go to see customs . Booked into marina Pasito Blanco in the south of Gran Canaria, fantastic marina, had my mates visit for a few days, got Simone to look at and hopefully repair my fridge!
