In the world of expedition boats, that makes her compact. A pocket yacht, technically. But step inside and she does a very convincing impression of something much larger. Of course, she is not perfect. No boat is. Some systems are still waiting for updates. The tender situation is still a puzzle we have not fully solved. And yes, there are a few tight spaces where you really must be flexible and patient. But that is also the tradeoff that makes UNDRA work for us. She is small enough for the two of us to handle, efficient enough to make sense, rugged enough to go farther than most boats, and comfortable enough to feel like home. This is not the full deep dive into every system, locker, or future project. That would be a whole series. This is us introducing you to our home. So, welcome aboard. We're awfully excited to finally have you over. ---------------------------- WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. A couple of explorers, modern-day documentarians, and cultivators of curiosity. Over the past month we also tackled corrosion protection, battery replacements, bottom paint touch-ups, carpentry repairs... and so much more. --------------- WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. No survey, no sea trial. And there was one thing we couldn’t stop thinking about… the electrical system. More specifically, stray current (hello PTSD). It’s the invisible killer of boats. It doesn’t care how new your wiring is, how expensive your systems are, or how confident your installer was. If it’s there, it can quietly destroy props, shafts, rudders, deck fittings, bottom paint and more. And it happens far faster than most people realize. This time, we’re not taking any chances. We brought in the corrosion expert from Marine Protection Systems to run a full inspection and teach us what we should have known years ago… and we filmed every second of it. This video dives deep into one of the most important (and most overlooked) parts of boat ownership: Galvanic corrosion, stray current, anodes, shore power protection, and how it all actually works. A huge thanks to Jess and the team at @marineprotectionsystems3278 for the massive education. --------------- WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. Our camera was stolen, along with half a terabyte of footage. 😭 It sucked. But that's not what this video is about. We've since replaced the gear, and in the process, something unexpected happened. The way we capture our adventures has shifted. We've gone for a simpler setup, fewer barriers, and honestly, we've never felt lighter. ----------- WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. A couple of explorers, modern-day documentarians, and cultivators of curiosity. We’ve been chasing our curiosity around the world on wheels and keels since 2011. Why? Because curiosity is the key to unlocking life. It pushes us outside our comfort zone, softens our assumptions, and helps us embrace the great unknown. The more we let our curiosity lead the way, the more we discover about ourselves and the world around us. Things We're Most Curious About... GETTING OFF-GRID Our home is also our transportation and we spend weeks away from civilization and sometimes land. So self-reliance and sustainable living are a must. We've learned heaps about renewable energy, managing waste, creating safe drinking water and foraging for food. We carefully manage our resources and we’re always looking for new and better ways to do so. TALKING TO STRANGERS People are busy (even on remote islands) and travelers are a dime a dozen. It takes time to talk to strangers, and even more time to have a real connection. Going the extra mile to get to know someone is a commitment. Which is why these are our most treasured experiences. Setting off into the world with curiosity as our guide and nature as our compass. We talk to strangers and accept hospitality without fear or reservations. Both giving and receiving. ALTERNATIVE LIVING These are people who are doing things differently. Forgoing the mainstream, seeking freedom and living on the margins. Creative, unique and inspiring people who challenge our ideas of home and community. Our journey is ever-evolving but the mission remains the same: #CultivateCuriosity Timestamps if you like to Jump Around: 00:00 Robbed and it forced us to simplify 00:31 Amsterdam Camera Robbery Story (quick version) 01:16 Robbery Update 03:08 The Cameras we still own 05:19 What I Want and Don't Want With a New Camera 06:16 A Very Dutch Break 09:11 Dream Camera - Light is the Key 12:17 Can a Phone be as Good as a Mirrorless Camera? 13:49 Our New Camera Gear 17:43 Phones are Great, but NOT Always Better ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- #Travel #BoatLife #LifeStyle #Adventure #Sailing #Curiosity #explorer #trawler #motoryacht © Gone With the Wynns 2026
