With so much customisation and warranty to do while we’re on the hard stand in Italy we’ve been working every day on our Leopard 45 catamaran, Liger. One of the upgrades is installing our 7th rigid solar panel which involves making a stainless steel frame to match the others on the roof. Unfortunately, the boys managed to blow up yet another power tool - it set us back a little, but not for long!

We also had a compressor delivered to the yacht, did modifications to some existing spaces, and escaped from the heat of the hardstand to the river and the beach with our Australian Shepherd Rose.

⛵ After backpacking Asia, road tripping Europe and doing a bit of van life, we’re now exploring the world aboard our Leopard 45 catamaran. Like and subscribe to share in the adventure!

Witness the intense moments of my crash landing in Indonesia and the unexpected challenges faced by sailors at sea. Facing a nightmare scenario of a rat infestation on board - sharing how to create a rat trap that works using old peanut butter as bait! Will I successfully get my boat of these pesky creatures? One of the most challenging parts for a solo sailor is often the check-in process. Especially after a long sail. This time I have had almost 30 days at sea, still I just have to get the paperwork started right away. And even hunt rats when all I wanted to do was just go to sleep.

Saumlaki is my gateway into Indonesia as it is one of the closest ports of entry after passing the Torres Strait. Not every island in Indonesia is approved for entry or even renewing your visa.
The check-in process was done with very friendly and helpful people. Both health and customs were professional and effective. The immigration however is a totally different story. I will share more of this crazy experience in the next episode and also how to check into Indonesia with a yacht.

However I'm finally in Indonesia that's been on my bucket list for decades, and I cant wait to explore the wonders of this amazing nation. My first impression is lovely people and so different from my expectations. Indonesia is truly an exciting experience.

I'm a sailor with a YouTube channel and not a YouTuber. Sailing around the world in a Bavaria 55 Cruiser mostly solo, making videos whenever we have time for it.

Even though this is season 6 on YouTube I did not make that many videos in the beginning, and obviously not from my entire sailing life. Before full-time sailing 6 years ago, I sailed several seasons in the Mediterranean, and obviously also in Scandinavia. I had my first sailboat at age 7 and have been sailing and racing ever since. The TOP 10 SAILBOATS For Sale in CALIFORNIA! (Bay Area) Ok, it's been a minute since we've done a BoatFools Top 10 - and we have never explored what's available up in the Bay Area and, man, are we glad we did! There are some great sailboats up in the San Francisco area (not to mention the great sailing!) and there are some great deals. We had a blast reviewing these sailboats and it was fun to see how similar the the types of boats that are for sale to the ones up here in Maine. Many similarities. This was not the case when we reviewed sailboats down in SoCal.
