We were so lucky to be invited to spend a day on the 72ft Italian Yacht, As seen on James May our man in Italy. The new Amazon show with James May. We were in Italy for a weak looking around the Amalfi coast. Wow-what a boat, I know what you're going to say, but this has no Sails?????? Don't panic we are not buying this Aicon but when you are given a chance to go out on a Yacht like this what do you say;)

We put the yacht away for hurricane season. there have already been lots of storms and it is way more safe to store the boat on the "hard" instead of in the water.

We are finally leaving the Bahamas behind us and crossing the gulfstream current on our 2001 Searay Sundancer to Palm beach Florida. We had a really easy crossing. We unloaded all our gear to my storage unit and then moved the boat up to Stuart Florida to put the boat away while we get it sold. In the next video we are headed back to a sailboat and sailing in Italy!

After a month in Bimini, several trips back to the states, we've finally had the opportunity to move on and head to the Berry Islands on While One.

Our Son, Sam, spent about 4 weeks around Christmas with us. Upon our return from visiting family and Sam returning back to the University of Arizona, it was time for us to go. This was our first solo passage as husband and wife.

The trip was about 80nm and fortunately, we had a weather window do depart on my birthday. What an awesome birthday present! We arrived after dark and the markers to get into the anchorage were all missing...a bit disconcerting at dark when you're fearful of either running aground or hitting one of them!

In this episode, we explore the island. The following weekend, we head to the western side of the island for some clearer water and a great beach.

Action packed episode. Dolphins come alongside and wish me well as I leave Falmouth heading for France. After a terrible night on the tale end of a gale around Ushant, I nearly get hit by another boat entering Lorient. My old buddy Northern Rom turns up and explains the historical, or should that be 'hysterical' use of 'Sausage boats while we explore the old Uboat base in Lorient. We also checkout the best bar in the World.

This video shows how to calculate the number of shackles to be dropped when dropping a ship's anchor. It includes determining the number of shackles that have been dropped by reading the markings on the anchor chain. The calculations are just a reference. There are other methods of calculations and you can use the method you are familiar with.

A ship's anchor is a heavy device typically made of metal that is used to secure a vessel in place by gripping the seabed. Anchors are crucial maritime equipment for ships of all sizes, ranging from small boats to large ocean-going vessels. They are essential for various maritime operations, including anchoring in ports, harbors, and offshore locations, as well as during emergency situations or when conducting maintenance activities.

Upgrading from manual Furling System to Electric on an Elan Impression 50

We start in our first stop in Malaysia - Puteri Harbour / One 15 Marina. And we find a small hitchhiker who just like us seemed had a tuff night. As we take care of him and check into the country, we explore around the marina.
Our stay is not long, but very pleasant and in front of us 170NM in the busiest and most dangerous waters in the world, including night passage, which we not looking forward to.
But reaching Port Dickson is not that tuff as it seemed and we happy to come into bustling Admiral Marina. Join us!
