After saying farewell to our friends we sailed to explore the French Riviera Famous and glamorous place where if you have enough cash you can buy yourself a 17th-century castle! :) We started with Villefranche-sur-Mer  - a small charming town between Nice and Monaco.
Then we moved closer to Cannes, where we finally met another AMEL Super Maramu 2000 owner from Lithuania - long-awaited get-together and great times… Where together we sail to Antibes, and we girls go for a shopping trip to Niece, and then of course - Cannes! Where we attend the Cannes Yachting Festival… So many new beautiful boats - did we get our heads turned and get a new boat???
I guess you will have to watch to find out ;)

This was one of the toughest videos I've ever had to edit. Saying goodbye to our 18 year old daughter @jadynmorse as we sent her away from our sailboat to another one...on her greatest adventure yet. Aquarius left koh Phi Phi for Krabi River Marina where Z and Ken visited the local Thai immigration office; and received a one month extension. We also had time to clean up Aquarius at the dock, and then took off with a few guests for Railay Beach area. WOW, picture perfect!

We were late in the season, and the Railey Beaches were exposed to the East, and thus a few nights we got rocked. And almost sunk our dinghy.

This is a major milestone for us - we are about to transit Suez Canal!
We start our journey at the top of Red Sea / Bottom of Gulf of Suez. Winds are not cooperating in this part of the seas, but as far as we been watching - it’s one of the better windows for our passage. 142NM to the entrance of the Suez Canal. On the way - usual - getting around fishing boats and their nets, and arriving to the huge anchorage at night. Next morning we move to Suez yacht Club, where Aquarius will be docked for the night. This time we are not checked into Egypt, therefore we can not go ashore and whilst docking we damaged our bow thruster. Oh well, luckily we don’t need it to transit the canal.
Next morning our pilot arrives and we take off to the next stop Ismailia. Join us!

Hello Friends,

I made this video to show my viewers a project that didn't work out. I bought a small 50 watt solar panel that I wanted to install someplace out of the way and decided to try and remake my aft hatch into a solar hatch. I knew that 50 watts doesn't do much for charging your batteries and is more of a trickle charger than anything but I wanted something to keep juice in the batteries when at anchor or if the power went out at the dock. We plan on adding solar to our quarter rails so this would have just been the first small panel in the set up.

I designed the hatch to be positionable using RAM mounts on either side allowing the panel to be adjusted and pointed towards the sun in various directions. I also installed a rubber latch aft so any breaking waves over the stern wouldn't rip the panel off the hinged base.

I took the wood structure to the boat to test fit it and made a critical error during my test fit. I didn't screw the hinges into the new hatch as it would be mounted on the final install. Instead I simply opened it as I would with the regular hatch and it appeared I still had plenty of room to access the lazarette. In doing so I was pivoting the hatch on the lower part of the panel housing and not where the hinges mount to.

In the end I thought the design was a good idea so I wanted to make this video to share with everyone in case this sort of idea can be implemented onto your boat or project in some way.
