We left Zea Marina in Athens ready for another big adventure - our third canal transit! This time - Corinth Canal in Greece! So excited and ready to go.
All went well we arrived a day before and anchored nearby before checking on the VHF as no prior reservations are needed.
The next day early morning WE GO - to pay... And our well researched and justified fee just was bumped up by 50%!!! What to do now - when we are already right here?
We tried twice going to reason in the hopes to resolve and followed up with an email - NOTHING...
In all fairness, we probably skipped Corinth Canal and for a few more days sailed around beautiful Peloponnese islands to get where we want rather than paying 500 Eur, but oh well....
But we can't deny - it does look spectacular, so after all - our loss your gain, enjoy! :)

After delays in Australia earlier in the year, I find myself battling fierce storms and attempted to claw my way out of Indonesia as the wet season bares its teeth and puts me on dangerous lee shores. This is the start of the final Leopard Catamaran and Robertson & Caine new boat buying review series, restrictions are off, it's time to start off with the famous forward cockpit door.

When considering catamaran designs, having a front door to a forward cockpit is just one of those things people tend to love or hate. Boat builders and yacht brokers have put resources into convincing people that they're an innovative idea and completely safe, and when constructed properly they probably are, but what happens when the frame gets completely screwed up?

A saga that carried on from just after handover until Trinidad, we never imagined just how bad our Leopard 45's forward cockpit hatch would be - dry fiberglass, putrid seawater, moldy broken plywood and a frame that was simply the wrong shape.

On a production level the Leopard 45 has been retired, the same factory that built this boat is now producing the new Leopard 46 electric drive.

We're continuing our monohull review series with a boat tour and review of the Moody 41DS. This is a really interesting boat, and unlike anything else on the market. The design takes inspiration from trawlers such as the Nordhavn and catamarans, but it is of course a monohull. The question is- is this the best of both worlds?
