It is FINALLY time to get this boat back out on the sea! For our first sail we headed north, leaving Trinidad behind and pointing our bow up the Caribbean Sea towards Martinique and St Martin. As things usually go with boats though, we ended up somewhere else completely unexpected, stopping in and anchoring our Leopard Catamaran for a short time while we waited out the weather to continue to adventure north.
Once again a huge thank you to all the Trini's who supported us in our time there, especially our local and cruiser mates. We can't wait to catch up again!

A new model with a strong character, the Allures 51.9 represents the most successful sailboat in the range, which retains the fundamentals in terms of safety, comfort, autonomy, performance and versatility. It is positioned as a new reference among blue-water cruising yachts from 50 to 55 feet.

628 nautical miles is a long sail with only one sail left that's working!
Sailing nonstop from Timor Leste to Bali Indonesia with strong ocean currents and not many sails left after my eventful sail earlier this year. Hopefully, there is a sail loft in Bali that can help me fix one of my main sails and even my genoa. Bali the island of Gods has been on my top 10 list for a long time and I can't wait to explore. But also this time I was delayed by customs and immigration due to some errors from last time in Indonesia. The bureaucracy for yachts entering or leaving Indonesia is quite a task and I really recommend using an agent.
With great assistance from my friends here and even in Jakarta everything finally worked out smoothly and I can now enjoy Indonesia for a long time.

ABOUT THIS CHANNEL:
I'm a sailor with a YouTube channel and not a YouTuber. Sailing around the world in a Bavaria 55 Cruiser mostly solo, making videos whenever we have time for it.
Comfortable at sea with 4 decades of sailing experience and hundreds of thousands of miles behind me.
Even though this is season 6 on YouTube I did not make that many videos in the beginning, and obviously not from my entire sailing life. Before full-time sailing 6 years ago, I sailed several seasons in the Mediterranean, and obviously also in Scandinavia. I had my first sailboat at age 7 and have been sailing and racing ever since. Also, more than 10 years of experience as a captain in Search and Rescue at sea in Norway.
Hello Friends,
This is a special episode where I talk about a last minute Yacht Delivery I was hired to crew on one week ago today. I explain what happened with the boat, what my concerns were with taking the boat to sea and the ins/outs of yacht deliveries.
We had intended on driving the 38ft wooden fishing boat from Westport, Washington to the San Francisco Bay. Our plans were doom from the beginning...
Thanks to Captain David Stovall for referring me for the job and thanks to Captain Patrick Browne for hiring me.

In this episode, I'm talking about my Pacific thoughts and also take you with me in parts of the real world of sailing and navigating through a covid world. I'm still trying to be positive and optimistic about my sailing adventure, even though reality sometimes is challenging. I have not given up on my pacific dream but it's still difficult to say when this chapter of my next adventure will start. At the moment it just seems stupid to even think about crossing the Panama canal and go out the big blue. Lots of people say they have crossed the Pacific yet they only sailed to French Polynesia. To be fair that's not even half of the Pacific, closer to one-third. Just to put things in perspective and then imagine all the closed islands and borders. Going now would be like happy go lucky.... and miss out on a lot!

ABOUT THIS CHANNEL:
I'm trying to sail around the world in my Bavaria 55 Cruiser, making videos whenever I have time for it. Most of the time I sail singlehanded but occasionally I do have sailing friends onboard. Still in the Caribbean due to the troubles around and was supposed to be in Asia by now.
Even though this is season 3 on youtube I have already sailed 4 seasons full time but did not make that many videos in the beginning. Before full-time sailing, I have sailed several seasons in the Med prior to this, and obviously also in Scandinavia. I have been traveling the world before and also been an active regatta sailor. I had my first sailboat at age 7 and been sailing ever since.
PLEASE BE KIND IN THE COMMENTS!
I'm just a normal person sharing my travel adventure through my eyes and experience from my perspective! Remember how I do things might work for me but not for you. It might even not be the correct way to do things, and I don't have the blueprint either. I'm not perfect and nobody is. The day I believe I know it all and don't think I can learn new things I should go ashore.

It seemed we almost done with the Indian ocean… 3 passages already done. And yes - this one is dangerous because of Somalian pirates-infested waters. And fairly long - at least 10 day passage. That went… how do I day that… well it’s complicated. You have to watch the video…
And please- wish us good luck.
We Need it more than ever.
The passage was made from August 26th - September 5th, 2022. Northbound: Tanzania toward the Red Sea.

Episode #261 : Season 9 : The South Pacific Adventures
Hello Friends,
Feeling unsure about the protection of the anchorage at Motu Faama, I decided to haul up and head back to Kia Ora Anchorage ahead of the Maramu winds that were forecasted to arrive later that afternoon.
After riding out a weeks worth of high winds at Kia Ora, I was finally able to head ashore, get fuel and provisions and prepare to leave Rangiroa.

We sail through belize on our catamaran and find a wrecked and abandoned yacht. We take the opportunity to act like real pirates and board the ship looking for treasure and loot. The yacht had already been picked clean and there wasn't much left to salvage. It was sad to see "Taza Mas" in such poor condition and left to rot in the elements of the sea.

In this special Bonus Episode I show you the SMACO S700 2L Scuba Tank Portable Mini Scuba Diving Tank.

This is a great piece of gear to have onboard if only for the purpose of diving on your anchor to check it our to free it if it gets fouled underwater.
They also have a small compressor you can buy if you dont have scuba tanks to fill it from as I do.

Season 8 : Hawaiian Adventures : Episode #209
Hello Friends,
On this weeks episode I meet up with Oahu Legend Big Island Mike (https://www.bigislandmike.com) who is kind enough to show me around Oahu.
Big Island Mike rode as a sponsored BMX rider for S&M Bikes and Monster Energy Drinks through out the 90s which lead to him traveling the world riding in Matt Hoffman's Bicycle Stunt Series. Mike was a judge for the X-Games for 25 years and has been tattooing for almost as long. Mike tattoos in Los Angeles at the legendary Shamrock Social Club (http://shamrocksocialclub.com) and in Oahu at Hale Nui Tattoos (https://halenuitattoos.com) and at his private studio on the west side the Secret Ninja Warehouse.
I was introduced to Mike by my tattooer and our mutual friend Shawn Barber and I mentioned to Mike that I planned on finding and skateboarding at the legendary Wallows ditch made famous by the "Search for Animal Chin" video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgBm0Ly5Rmg). Mike said he would take me and so we spend the day living out my boyhood dream of skating this legendary spot and we hit another skatepark and finally ended up at the Secret Ninja Warehouse.
At the end of this episode there are some clips of Bobby Kimani doing some flatland bike tricks that are amazing. check him out on instagram at http://www.instagram.com/bobbykimani
also head over to https://www.bigislandmike.com and pick up some of Big Island Mike's BBQ sauce and grab one of his "NUT SACKS" if you dare!

Initially I wanted to sail to Penrhyn, the northernmost Cook Islands. Instead, I end up in a Doldrum area, a stationary calm zone. New plan, new course. Instead of calm, it becomes stormy. I drop anchor in the middle of the ocean, in Suwarrow Atoll. But that's where the problems begin. I'm sailing alone on Reykja, a 35-year-old steel ketch. My route: from Bora Bora, via Suwarrow, to Samoa, in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
Episode #266 : Season 9 : The South Pacific Adventures
Hello Friends,
After an amazing time in the Tuamotus, we were ready to make way for Tahiti and the Society Islands. The weather dictates much of a sailors life and my plans had changed a few times in the days leading up to my departure. I had a rough sail to Tahiti, seeing winds over 35 knots and the seas that go with them. I arrived into Pape’ete Harbor at 2am and found a safe place to tie up.

While on the hardstand in Trinidad we decided to change to a stainless steel anchoring system with a 10mm Cromox chain and 85lb Mantus Marine M1 anchor, receiving great support from both companies. The idea was to future proof our setup for the Pacific and South East Asia, the cruising grounds we are most excited for and want to spend years in. But, while sailing the Windward Islands we discovered a problem that has damaged the steel to the point where many components need replacing, something we never saw coming.

Just in time for the 2023 Annapolis Boat Show, here's our take on the value of tap testing a yacht to check the integrity of the fiberglass hull and try to find potential issues like voids, de-lamination and dry fiberglass. With her trusty hammer in hand Teesh takes you through what a tap test is, how we do it and why we think it's worth tap testing a new (or new to you) catamaran or yacht during the handover process, whether it's done by you, a qualified marine surveyor or marine company with experience tap testing.
We're glad we did it to our Leopard 45 as any issues that were discovered can now be reviewed and fixed as part of the ongoing warranty repairs, bringing our live aboard catamaran closer to the condition it needs to be in to support our dreams of sailing around the world and exploring new places.
If you've got any spots of concern on your yacht or are just curious about the condition of the fiberglass, give tap testing a try and let us know how it goes!

A quick Google search shows that tap testing can be done as part of a survey on any fiberglass boat, regardless of whether it's a monohull, catamaran or trimaran. Our experiences have largely been centered around Leopard Catamarans so if you've tap tested another one of the major brands such as Bali, Lagoon, Seawind, Fountain Pajot, Balance, Outremer or HH, let us know how it went.
