Season 7 : Episode #141 : Sailing to Catalina for a week and a half on the hook
Hello friends,
Here is the official first episode of our new season ( although we will grandfather in the Avalon trip because it makes sense)
On this episode we sail from Los Angeles Harbor to Little Harbor on the backside of Catalina Island to start a week and a half long trip where we explored new and old anchorages and manage to stay on the hook the entire time!
Arriving at Little harbor we had a TON of problems getting the anchor secured due to a crowded anchorage and a brutal south swell that was bashing the anchorage.

Episode 343 : Season 10 : New Zealand - Aotearoa
Hello Friends,
On this episode I visit a number of different bays around Great Barrier after riding out some bad weather and position myself at Bowling Alley Bay to sail to Waiheke for an approaching cyclone.
Great Barrier Island was everything people told me it would be. Beautiful, Wild and with very few boats or people around. It is a must visit if you are cruising in NZ.

Season 7 : Episode #156 : Finding a Ghost ship and having a lovely sail home
Hello Friends,
On this episode we haul out the anchor at Crane Point after enjoying a "Lunch Hook" and head out into perfect winds for a wonderful sail home.
Half way back to Los Angeles, right in the middle of the shipping channel we came across a very spooky "Ghost Ship" that had its anchor hanging down in the 1400 ft of water and was towing a half sunk dinghy. It was an eerie sight! after circling and calling out we called it into the USCG.
After that we took in a beautiful sunset and made our way home completely under sail power!

Hello Friends,
On this episode I sit down with John Conway of @SVFelurian to talk about his new Rolly Tasker Sails.
here is the info John sent me about his sails:
"My sails are from the Roly Tasker “Performance Sails” Family. I went with the CDX PRO Laminate, which is the cruising laminate made by Contender Sailcloth. This fabric is assembled in a tri-radial pattern for both main and headsails. I chose the “Cool Grey” color option over plain white. My Main has 5 full battens, 6 intermediate slides and an aluminum headboard. Custom upgraded to webbing loops for Tides Marine strong track slides, two point single line reefing with low friction rings. My headsail is a 135% roller furling 135% Genoa with upgraded features of foam luff, tell tale window and sewn on Sunbrella UV cover to match my boat canvas."
Direct from their website, here is the “Standard Features” of the performance cdx pro
• Individual sail design
• Polyester Cruising Laminate CDX Pro by Contender Sailcloth, white or cool grey
• Seams triple stitch with UV stabilised thread
• Stainless steel rings reinforced with webbing
• Strong radial patches
• Strong batten pockets with velcro lock or tie in type
• Mainsails are constructed with alloy headboards
• luff hardware is shackled on
• webbed on luff hardware
• Low stretch leech line with clam cleat
• Two draft stripes for visual reference of sail shape
• Full rows of tell-tales
• XL sail bag including sail tie, long bags as option
Here is their description of what CDX PRO cloth is.
The CDX Pro range of fabrics is designed around a variety of sub-assemblies with different weights of taffetas and a 500 denier polyester cross-ply. A polyester insertion is added to these assemblies to create a complementary range of modern sail laminates increasing in weight and strength.
Sails made from CDX Pro Laminate can be delivered either in cool grey or traditional white.

Season 4 | Episode 58 | Sailing to Santa Barbara Island
Hello Friends!
Welcome to Season 4 ! This is mine and Camille's first adventure video and Camille's first big sailing trip. As we mention in the introduction this episode was shot last summer just after I returned from cruising in Åland. Since that time we have gotten married!! If you would like to see the little wedding video we put together for our friends and family it can be found here: https://youtu.be/8ph2vV1zVDo
On this episode we prepare the boat for the 6 day trip, our passage to Santa Barbara Island and our day ashore hiking and exploring this isolated island 44nm off the coast of Los Angeles.
The next few episodes will show out passage to the backside of Catalina where we spent time on the hook at Little Harbor and finally on a mooring ball at Cat Harbor at the isthmus. With sailing, snorkeling, hiking and just the right amount of nudity any summer sailing trip demands.
Thanks for watching! If you enjoy this episode please subscribe and give us a thumbs up and leave us a comment, it really helps in the ratings!

Episode 390 : Season 12 : Sailing Australia
Hello Friends,
On this episode we are enjoying the peaceful anchorage of Nara Inlet on Hook Island whose landscape and stillness reminds us of New Zealand. Hearing of some nearby Rock Art we head off on a dinghy mission to hike up to a cave and see the Aboriginal art left by the Ngaro People who inhabited these islands from more than 9000 years.
We then make our way further into the inlet and hike (climb) a waterfall to take a dip in its freshwater pools up top.

Episode #266 : Season 9 : The South Pacific Adventures
Hello Friends,
After an amazing time in the Tuamotus, we were ready to make way for Tahiti and the Society Islands. The weather dictates much of a sailors life and my plans had changed a few times in the days leading up to my departure. I had a rough sail to Tahiti, seeing winds over 35 knots and the seas that go with them. I arrived into Pape’ete Harbor at 2am and found a safe place to tie up.

Episode 388 : Season 12 : Sailing Australia
Hello Friends,
On this episode we hauled up at Digby island and had a 10 hour 44NM passage to St. Bees where we had a very noisy night on the mooring ball as it slammed continuously into the hull over and over and over.
We had read about the Koalas on St. Bees that are studied for their unique success as an isolated population. You can read more about there here: https://www.abc.net.au/news/20....22-09-04/island-myst
We found a really neat dry tidal lagoon onshore and some dense bush with butterflies, wild orchids and a shy kangaroo. We also found A KOALA!!!!!! My first time seeing one in the wild!!!!!

Episode #230 : Season 8 : The Hawaiian Adventures : Bringing a 1959 Triton to Honolulu - Part 1
Hello Friends, Welcome to a new episode of "Yacht Delivery Chronicles"! On this episode my friend Esteban and myself catch a ride onboard SV Solstice with Captain Geoff sailing from Ko Olina on Oahu to Port Allen on Kauai. The purpose of our trip is to bring Esteban's new boat, a 1959 Person Triton (Hull #34) from Kauai to Honolulu.
We had a mellow crossing of the Kauai Channel with slack Tradewinds with some excitement at the end when we discovered a cracked fuel line and made a temporary repair.
Join us next week to watch us Turn and Burn and bring Esteban's new boat home after only being on Kauai for 5 hours!

Episode 378 : Season 12 : Sailing Australia
Hello Friends,
On this episode we show you what it's like to be a live aboard and a little of what goes into getting water, food, boat parts and finding a place to do laundry. These are simple chores for those who live on land but for cruising sailors who are always finding themselves in new places, it is not quite so simple. Australia has some amazing public docks with free water which makes that chore much easier than it is in some places I have sailed to around the world. This will get even more tricky as we move into wild and remote places!
We also took full advantage of the well stocked chandleries in Australia while we had access to them and were happy to find sound damping for the engine bay!

This is an Archive Document of my talk at Patagonia in June of 2023 in Santa Monica, California. I filmed this just to have a recording of the talk and not necessarily with the intention of public release but thought some of you would enjoy seeing it so I am releasing it now.
Thanks to Patagonia for hosting it and for Chris King for setting it up. During this talk I cover how I got into sailing, buying the boat and sailing off into the horizon and talk about my adventures as far as New Zealand. I will be doing future talks like this as I continue to sail and collect new experiences and adventures.

Season 7 : Episode #165 : Bound for the Northern Channel Islands
Hello Friends,
On this weeks episode we depart for a 10 day trip to explore the Northern Channel Islands; San Miguel, Santa Rosa, Santa Cruz & Anacapa.
These Islands are wild and lack facilities of any kind and the winds blowing down from Point Conception can make San Miguel and Santa Rosa very dangerous at times. We had delayed our departure by 3 days due to high winds and after I felt the seas had had time to calm down after the blow we departed on a flat ocean with no wind to speak of, which was great because we were heading into the prevailing winds and currents.
We had a easy passage of 97 nautical miles in 19 hours of motor sailing. Only at the end did the winds increase and force us to duck into Morse Point on Santa Cruz Island.

Episode #291 : Season 9 : The South Pacific
Hello Friends,
On this episode I wake up in the peaceful anchorage of Makogai Island and enjoy fresh papaya given to me by Pow at the Fiji Fisheries village. In the beautiful morning light I head out on a dinghy adventure to check out the coral and clam farm off of the old pier at the Makogai Island Marine Research Center ( https://www.levukafiji.com/makogai/ )
This coral and clam farm is a safe haven and nursery for the endangered giant clams, sea turtles as well as young coral. The marine biologists and field researchers grow the coral and clams to maturity then distribute them around the Fijian islands to help replenish the coral beds that have suffered destruction from both mass bleaching events and cyclones, most notability Cyclone Winston in 2016.
