On January 16th, 2024 we left Mindelo, Cape Verde for our second leg of Atlantic Ocean Crossing. Winds looked perfect, and we were planning to be in Marinique in 12-14 days.
On the 5th day late evening we lost our main mast, then couple hours later, we lost our mizzen mast as main mast was constantly bashing into it. We still don’t know why this happened but here are some of our thoughts after 4 days this disaster happened.

We took off from Papua New Guinea for our 2nd longest passage - 1,500NM miles during which we will cross Great Barrier Reef via Torres Strait!
We sadly sail next to Australia as it's too expensive and we don't have enough time... But I guess "you can't have it all" but we have to be happy and appreciate where we get to go.
This time is quite unusual - we join Sail Indonesia Rally! We wanted to try it out; get some organized "ready to enjoy" treatment, see local dances, try their food and get to meet more sailors. And of course - help with Indonesian visas and check in process which is not simple.
We arrive to Kupang - the capital of the Indonesian province of East Nusa Tenggara and we are greater by the City and the Mayor himself! That was something!!!
We get to meet local people and new sailor friends, enjoy city tour and delicious foods... And we find out that our Sail Indonesia Rally is having issues and can't guarantee any of the itinerary nor anything else - like visa extension or other guidance or support... Oh well. I guess the Rally Failed just as it started...
It's not our first time to sail on our own, just the challenge is - we did not do much of research on anchorages, visited places, provisioning spots and here very little people speak english and maps are famously incorrect...
I guess we will roll with punches! :)

When we arrived to Pemba end of Ramadan celebration was about to start. Arriving to the beach right away we were surrounded by the locals. Curious ones and the ones offering their services. But we proceed alone and via luscious forest walk to the nearby village meeting bunch of curious kids. We nicely greeted by the village but shortly told we have to pay if we want to take photos. So we just had back to the beach where the celebration is happening.
New morning we inch our way south to position ourselves for easier sail to Tanga, but that was a tuff one!

Africa is famous for its safaris, especially Tanzania, where we currently anchored. So it’s kind of a must do on everyone’s sailors list that we met in Tanga Yacht club. So we go - and man oh man (spoiler alert!) it was FANTASTIC! We saw THE BIG 5 in a first day and a half while in Seringeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater Conservation area and Tarengire.

Going under the bridge is very stressful, even after checking and double checking the hight clearance. This one is a special one - The Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Bridge or Penang Second Bridge - the longest bridge in Malaysia and the longest in Southeast Asia. The total length of the bridge is 24 km (15 mi) with length over water at 16.9 km (10.5 mi).

Our journey continues, as we visit St. Kitts & Nevis (sorry, but due to technical issues we will post the video on St. Kitts & Nevis later) and we arrive to St. Barths.
Saint Barthelemy, a French-speaking Caribbean island commonly known as St. Barts, is known for its white-sand beaches and designer shops. The capital, Gustavia, encircling a yacht-filled harbor, has high-end restaurants and historical attractions - we loved it! Unfortunately because of upcoming storm we had to move to look for better shelter, so we stayed only couple of days...

Merry Christmas to all of our subscribers! And this is the best present we could came up with - our latest footage just couple days old! - After almost 1,5 years I'm back to Thailand! Getting here in Bangkok - "Test & Go" - visit the city and famous tourist spot @Khaosan Road, which by any means does not look like familiar tourist attraction we used to know... We actually compare how it looked like before COVID, during and now... Oh wow... But Bangkok center looks great, with Anime show and Holiday decorations - beautiful, but most importantly - we fly to Krabi to our boat Aquarius!!! So emotional! Join us!

We are back to Aquarius starting season 6 of Sailing Aquarius! Wow, it's so exciting!!!
We fly to Tanzania and hurry to Tanga to Aquarius. She's been on anchor for 2 months watched by our friends, but we need to make sure all is well and we are all ready for our Indian Ocean & Red Sea passage towards Suez canal.
