John Gingold Memorial Video
RIP John on S/V Silver Sea He was a great friend, a great sailor, and a great musician. We had many sails together on Volare, where he would bring his guitar and jam while everyone shared food and drink and sea stories. I got to jam with him once, we both played guitar, I had no idea what I was doing, he was teaching me, he's playing, I'm playing, every once in a while what I played sounded really good with what he was playing. It was an amazing experience, one of many with John that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Sunset and evening star, And one clear call for me! And may there be no moaning of the bar, When I put out to sea, But such a tide as moving seems asleep, Too full for sound and foam, When that which drew from out the boundless deep Turns again home. Twilight and evening bell, And after that the dark! And may there be no sadness of farewell, When I embark; For tho' from out our bourne of Time and Place The flood may bear me far, I hope to see my Pilot face to face When I have crost the bar. RIP Brother
