Heart Attack Video from the British Heart Foundation explaining the signs + symptoms of Heart Attack Here are some common symptoms of a heart attack: Chest pain or discomfort: The most common symptom of a heart attack is chest pain or discomfort. The pain may feel like a tightness, pressure, squeezing, or fullness in the center of the chest that lasts for more than a few minutes. Upper body pain or discomfort: Pain or discomfort may also be felt in the arms, back, neck, jaw, or stomach. Shortness of breath: Feeling breathless or having difficulty breathing, especially when at rest or during light physical activity. Cold sweats: A sudden onset of sweating, especially if accompanied by lightheadedness or dizziness. Fatigue: Feeling tired or weak, especially if it comes on suddenly or is accompanied by other symptoms. Nausea or vomiting: Feeling sick to your stomach, or actually vomiting, can be a sign of a heart attack. It's important to note that not everyone experiences the same symptoms, and some people may experience no symptoms at all. Women, in particular, may experience more subtle symptoms such as fatigue, nausea, or shortness of breath. If you or someone around you is experiencing any of these symptoms, call emergency services immediately. Time is critical when it comes to treating a heart attack, and the sooner medical attention is received, the better the chances of a full recovery. This video perfectly explains the first-hand signs and symptoms of a Heart Attack. We use this in our Royal Yachting Association First-Aid Courses as well as our Emergency First Aid at Work Courses.
