Alor and West Komodo Snorkel Safari
At our first stop in Alor, you will be blown away by the sheer beauty of the marine life and reefscapes just beneath the surface. There is also the possibility of coming across a couple of the ocean's most iconic inhabitants, like a superpod of dolphins and melon head whales, giant ocean sunfish, and even blue whales as we move from site to site. Here in Alor, we base ourselves in the secluded resort called Alami Alor, where we will be the only guests and will have exclusive access to their house reefs and embark on snorkeling excursions multiple times a day. We'll then move over to the northeast coast of Sumbawa where we'll have exclusive access to four different regions, which include Western Komodo, Sangeang Volcano, Gili Banta, and Eastern Sumbawa, for some truly amazing and unique snorkeling. As these areas are seldom visited by people, you can expect pristine hard and soft corals in abundance, as well as busy fish life, and good chances of turtles, larger rays, and reef sharks cruising around. Around Sangeang Volcano, which is still semi-active, you'll have the opportunity to swim over its bubbling black sands and hyper-rich reefs which are unlike any of the other reefs in the region as a result of its nutrient-dense volcanic substrate. Out front of the resort, you'll find that Kalimaya has its own house reef where you are welcome to snorkel at your leisure.
