2023 49er, 49erFX and Nacra 17 European Championships - Day One Highlights

With an Olympic Country ticket on the line, Jana Germani and Giorgia Bertuzzi, from Italy 🇮🇹 grabbed the spotlight winning both races in the 49erFX today🥇Denmark's Josefine Nöjgaard and Esther Bojsen-Moller 🇩🇰 are currently in second place, leaving some big names and experienced teams in their wake… In the 49er, only one race was sailed today as the breeze died down in the late afternoon. Winners: Wizner & Wizner 🇪🇸, McHardie & McKenzie 🇳🇿, and Schneiter & de Planta 🇨🇭- Let’s see what tomorrow gives! In the Nacra, despite minimal training since the World Championships in Holland, British team of John Gimson and Anna Burnet are off to a great start in this regatta! Since they have already been selected as a the GB team 🇬🇧 for the Olympics, they are focused on getting ready for Marseille. Italians 🇮🇹 Maria Giubilei and Gianluigi Ugolini also had a pretty good race, finishing in 2nd, and behind them the Booth siblings AUS 🇦🇺 sitting in 3rd. Credits: Vilamoura Sailing
