The transformation of this 1990 VIKING YACHTS 53’ EXPRESS SPORTFISH started in 2000. The EXPRESS layout was more suited for the owner, and the idea was to strip it down to the hull removing the house, decks, and all wiring and engines. Then, the bottom, chines, stringers, and bulkheads on this VIKING 53’ SPORTFISH were reinforced to accommodate for the upgraded MAN 1300 HP engines, thus delivering performance and speeds to reach those remote fishing grounds. In 2008, HOOK received a new Pipe Welders tower and a fresh Awl Grip paint job. In 2015 the engines and generators on this 53’ EXPRESS were rebuilt as well as fit for new ZF transmissions, shafts, and propellers. Around the same time, most of the major electronics on board this VIKING 53’ were replaced. This magnificent transformation all started because of storm damage 25 years ago and it was decided to redesign her into the beautiful 53’ EXPRESS that she is today.
