Today I sailed home my new to me 1972 Bristol Carvel 22. I purchased for a great deal on eBay, if I told you how much you wouldn’t believe me so don’t even ask . Let’s just stay. It was an awesome deal. So I purchased her without ever looking at the cabin. I saw her from the shoreline, and I fell in love with this vintage sailboat. Now it’s time to start the motor for the very first time and head down the channel in East Greenwich Bay. Then it’s off to Narraganset Bay towards her new slip. Jump onboard MOD70 #PowerPlay as she blasts around the Isle of Wight! Finally, we return to competitive racing at the Royal Ocean Racing Club, the first since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic! MOD70 PowerPlay, skippered by Ned Collier Wakefield, with Peter Cunningham on the tiller did the double this weekend, taking Multihull Line Honours and the win after MOCRA time correction. “I have been in quarantine for 14 days, so that was a release!” smiled Peter Cunningham. “That is the first time I have raced around the island. The sun was shining, a beautiful day, a great boat, top crew and a fun race. This was a fantastic way to come out of quarantine.
