Wir wollten bei diesem Meilentörn unsere Segel-Komfortzone erweitern. Daher beschlossen wir im Vorfeld, dass wir die über 500 Seemeilen lange Strecke von Korfu nach Lignano nonstop zurücklegen wollen. Und es ist uns auch gelungen :-)

This was my reaction to the first attempt at launching Freddie, after over a week of waiting past the day we were told we would be launched… We put our lives on hold to get her ready and to show up for this, not to mention getting our hopes way up that we would finally see her off land and back where she belongs, in the water… My heart was hurting and I felt frustrated… but tried to focus on positives. Visitors can marvel at her elegant lines, learn about her global circumnavigation, and appreciate the craftsmanship that has kept her sailing for decades. Utopia currently resides under the stewardship of the her new owners based in Manitowoc Wisconsin, where it continues to inspire curiosity and passion for the Great Lakes among learners of all ages.
