E' la prova del nove: si conosce il peso reale della barca finita, la capacità di raddrizzamento e se è conforme o meno in tutte le sue parti alle regole di stazza, condizione necessaria per correre nella classe di appartenenza. David Payne of the Australian National Maritime Museum gives us a little inspiration for the Australian Sailing Hall of Fame with a look at Barrenjoey, the 5.5M yacht which was sailed to Olympic glory in 1964. Grandfather Bill Northam and crew Peter “Pod” O’Donnell and James Sergeant, won Australia’s first Olympic sailing Gold medal in Tokyo in this beautiful boat which was designed in the US but built in Australia.
