βΊ Full test in Multihulls World NΒ°196: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/motor/iliad-53f-to-keep-long-crossings-comfortable βΊ Even though Iliad Catamarans only launched in 2019, the brand has already launched several powercat models from 50 to 70 feet, which have all seen great commercial success, notably in Australia... Building on this success, the yard has launched the Iliad 53. Available in an S-version, this new model is innovative in terms of design, as it does not have a flybridge, thus presents a sporty silhouette, or sedan appearance - hence the βSβ. With its significantly lowered superstructure, the 53S can venture onto inland waterways, opening up new cruising possibilities. Sheβs also available in a flybridge version under the name of the Iliad 53F. Like her predecessors, the 53 is a beachable cruising boat, solidly built in a foam/vinylester sandwich. This catamaran is also very comfortable and particularly well equipped as standard - air conditioning, generator, complete electronics, bow thruster, electrical appliances, lithium batteries, a 5,000-W inverter, solar panels, video/sound system etc. Powered by two 440 HP engines, the Iliad 53S is expected to reach 24 knots and be capable of covering more than 1,750 miles in long-distance cruising mode. βΊ TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Iliad Catamarans Length: 53β8β (16.35 m) Beam: 25β (7.6 m) Draft: 4β1β (1.25 m) Displacement: 52,900 lbs (24 t) Recommended engine: 2 x 440 HP Volvo or Yanmar Maximum speed: 21 knots Maximum range: 1,750 miles at 8 knots Fuel: 925 US gal (3,500 l) Water: 210 US gal (800 l) CE Certification: A-12.
