I grew up sailing the local waters of the Patuxent River and the Chesapeake Bay, where we stood constant watch for other boats, crab pots, and debris in the water. Sometimes it is hard to relax. It is not until you go off the coast that you really come to appreciate the peace and solitude of sailing and the sea. With Cara on the sailboat, we need to go for regular walks. I take her out and about maybe 8 times a day or thereabouts. It’s a great excuse to do some exploring close to the marina. Our excursions take us further each time.
